Go Tell The Spartans, One Of My All Time Favorite Movies 1978,Staring Burt Lancaster

This movie has an interesting correlation to Homeland Security's color coded threat system, that was introduced after 9/11. View the segment in the movie here.
This is one of Burt Lancaster's best performances although I think his performance, and the movie has been under rated. The movie is set in Vietnam, when Americas involvement in the conflict was still that of Advisers. The French had already been involved in the Vietnam Conflict, and they left behind a cemetery. The unit comes upon the cemetery. The sign over the cemetery was written in French, there is only one person in the in the unit who could translate,
Corporal Courcey recites: "Stranger, when you find us lying here, go tell the Spartans that we did our duty." This was in reference to, The film's title is from Simonides's epitaph to the three hundred soldiers who died fighting Persian invaders at Thermopylae, Greece: "Go tell the Spartans, passerby, that here, obedient to their laws, we lie." Wikipedia Go Tell The Spartans.
Burt Lancaster comments on making "Go Tell The Spartans" I highly recommend Go Tell The Spartans, one of the better, and I believe overlooked movies about our involvement in Vietnam.
