Happy Father's Day, To All The Fathers Today. I miss my own father today. I took father's day for granted when he was living.
Taking things for granted isn't uncommon for Americans. We take all kinds of things for granted, like our freedoms and liberties. The news coming out of Iran the last few days has reminded me, that my freedom and liberty came at a great cost.
Who knew better than the father of our country, George Washington, and it made me ponder, what would Dad do today with the events confronting America, and the freedom loving world?
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.

The Iranians held an election last week, and it has been disputed. They are protesting in the streets of Iran. They are struggling against their form of government, a government George Washington, understood all too well.
What would Dad have to say about our own government, and the position we are taking toward the Iranian Revolution? I don't know but the man didn't give up, even when he doubted himself, which he did a great deal of the time. He had a conscience but that didn't cause him to be indecisive. He just questioned his ability to live up to his countrymen's expectations. George Washington was actually a humble man. With great power, comes great responsibility. Life isn't just a popularity contest but anyone with a Dad, has been told that old chestnut.

The Iranians who are protesting today for their freedom, remind me of our government, and the posture they have taken toward us - American Citizens. I have not forgotten how Tea Party Protesters were treated, and I am not alone.
Let's hope our current President, remembers all of our father today, and asks himself "What Would Dad Do"
