Does Chris Mathews know that Louisiana is about as Deep South as you can get, what was he Expecting? The truth is pointing out Clowns & Jokers today is like Shooting Fish in a Barrel & HERE. For example, here is how Germany observed Carnival this Year.
Today's guest on Imus in the Morning, Donald Trump, knows something about Clowns & Jokers himself. He was discussing this Seasons Celebrity Apprentice, and the cast. This year's cast includes Clint Black, Andrew Dice Clay, Annie Duke, Tom Green, Natalie Gulbis, Scott Hamilton, Jesse James, Claudia Jordan, Khloe Kardashian, Brian McKnight, Joan Rivers, Melissa Rivers, Brande Roderick, Dennis Rodman, Herschel Walker ....Donald Trump also weighs in on the Bailouts, the Banks, and the Economy. The Second Amendment, Lou Dobbs, thinks our Attorney General Eric Holder, should concentrate on his JOB. You Can Listen to Lou Dobbs on Imus in the Morning Here. Is our Government full of Bozos, you will have to listen and decide for yourself.
Then there is this, Clint Eastwood thinks political correctness has made society humourless. I think Clint just doesn't know where to look. Here is one my Favorite Clowns.
I guess I am not the only one noticing this trend, Chickaboomer CNN: Send In The Clowns.
Lately, I find myself relating to the Joker from Batman Dark Knight, more and more. The Joker: You have all these rules and you think they’ll save you. Lately it seems to me only Suckers follow the Rules.

Note to Disney, I've seen this movie too. Wag the Dog.
To 'wag the dog' means to purposely divert attention from what would otherwise be of greater importance, to something else of lesser significance. By doing so, the lesser-significant event is catapulted into the limelight, drowning proper attention to what was originally the more important issue.
The expression comes from the saying that 'a dog is smarter than its tail', but if the tail were smarter, then the tail would 'wag the dog'.

Montana Shakespeare in the Parks has been touring Montana, northern Wyoming and eastern Idaho since 1973, with performances of free, professional outdoor theatre. An outreach program of Montana State University, it is the only completely professional touring theatre program in the state that produces Shakespeare’s plays, the only Shakespeare company in the country to reach as extensively into rural areas, and the only company in the state that offers its performances free to the public.
In order to maintain free performances that are high quality and available to all, funds are raised throughout the year through a combination of foundation grants, corporate sponsorships, individual donations and the exclusive Shakespeare in the Parks’ fundraiser-The Toast of the Town. END.
Shakespeare's play The Tempest is believed to be based on the wreck of the Sea Venture, a flag ship for the Virginia Company. Built and tasked to bringing much needed supplies to the Jamestown Colony. My own ancestor William Cantrell was transported on the 1st Supply aboard the Phoenix 1608, Captained by Captain Nelson.
The Loss of the Sea Venture, The Admiral of the Company, Sir George Somers himself, was at the helm through the storm. When he spied land on the morning of July 25, the water in the hold had risen to nine feet, and crew and passengers had been driven past the point of exhaustion. Somers deliberately drove the ship onto the reefs of what proved to be Bermuda in order to prevent its foundering. This allowed all 150 people aboard, and one dog, to be landed safely ashore.
This reminds me of another Captain recently in the news, Capt Chelsey Sullenberg. What would Bill Shakespeare have done with the Miracle on the Hudson?
(Note to Al Gore, Global Warming Tempest Creator. The Wreck of the Sea Venture, was believed to be caused by a hurricane, the year was 1609) There is evidence of early hurricane activity, relating to North America and the U.S seaboard. This doesn't take into account, Indigenous people's accounts using their mythology to describe wind activity. Hiawatha Ojibway Indian Prince, Hiawatha's father was the fickle West Wind accused of killing Hiawatha's mother. There is also the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald in 1975, for example, you can read about here, in the Graveyard of the Lakes. You can listen to Gordon Lightfoot's tribute The Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald. Lyrics: The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they say, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.
The dawn came late and the breakfast had to wait
When the gales of November came slashing
When afternoon came it was freezing rain
In the face of a hurricane West Wind
Sometimes a Natural Disaster is just a Natural Disaster.

General Motors and the United Auto Workers union made progress in concession talks and bondholders offered proposals to slash GM's debt, a day before the automaker must detail a new survival plan.
U.S. Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, a Michigan Republican, told Reuters progress in GM's talks with its bondholders appeared to have spurred progress in its talks with the UAW, which is also being pressed to forgive debt.
"They will get this done," said McCotter, who sits on the House Financial Services Committee that heard testimony from automakers as part of the bailout debate." Keep reading here.

In an area where the people have been exploited time and time again, was the 20/20 documentary: Hidden America; Children of the Mountain with just another exploitation?
Many have been on the "dole" and prescription painkillers for over fifty years through no fault of their own.

Wikipedia Fort Missoula was established by the United States Army in 1877 on land that is now part of the city of Missoula, Montana, to protect white settlers in Western Montana from possible threats from the native American Indians, such as the Nez Perce.
Beginning in 1888, Fort Missoula was home to the famous Buffalo Soldiers of the 25th Infantry Regiment (3rd Formation). While stationed at Fort Missoula, this unit tested the practicality of soldiers traveling by bicycles by conducting numerous training rides, with one ride all the way to St. Louis, Missouri. Interestingly, the Trans-America Bicycle Trail established in 1976 goes through Missoula, and covers some of the routes pedaled by the 25th Regiment, During World War II Fort Missoula housed a prison camp for Italian POWs, who called the area Bella Vista.
*My father was stationed at Ft Missoula after WWII, Missoula, Montana, where he met my mother. My Mother's grandparents had settled in a little place called "Bonita" in 1894, today Bonita can only be found on a forestry map. The draw of settlers to Montana started with "The Homestead Act"
It was not until May 20, 1862, that the free Homestead Act was finally passed and signed by President Abraham Lincoln. The law took effect on January 1, 1863.
PBS had a series about these early Montana Settlers, they started arriving in 1883 "Frontier House"
My Great Grandparents traveled by wagon train from St Joseph, Missouri. My Great Grandmother would give birth to a child along the way in Buffalo, Wyoming, she would later lose that child and another to "tick fever" My Grandmother would lose her first husband to tick fever. They arrived in Montana in 1894 with friends and extended family. My Great Grandfather would get up every morning at 3:00 A.M. and go to the Mines, when he finished there he would go to the Saw Mill, they also had a working ranch, due to the homestead act signed into law by President Abraham Lincoln. Out of the first settlers into Montana 88% would give up due to the hardships and move on. The 25th Infantry was already stationed at Ft Missoula in 1888, to protect the wave of pioneers moving in and settling the Montana Frontier.
I think this shows how the lives of Abraham Lincoln, Americans are celebrating his birthday today, and contributions of African Americans, the 25th Infantry "Iron Riders" February is Black History Month, have influenced my family personally.
Of Course the reason anyone was able to settle Montana in the first place started with Lewis & Clark and The Voyage of Discovery, that was enacted by President Thomas Jefferson. York, the slave of William Clark, was also a member of the Corp of Discovery read more about York here. You can read more about Lewis & Clark, "Undaunted Courage" by Stephen E Ambrose.
UPDATE: This is a photo of my Grandfather who worked as a cook, on the right, and his step son, my Uncle, who worked for the Forestry Dept., he was a Deputy Forest Ranger, standing on the porch of the Bonita Ranger Station. Mentioned in above Missoulian article highlighted Bonita.

New facility will focus on traumatic brain injuries. So far 51 million dollars has been raised for the new center, they need 65 million dollars. The new center will be a state of the art rehabilitation center for military service people suffering from post traumatic brain injuries.
This morning Imus was speaking to Bill White about taking care of our Military Service People, returning Veterans. Some Vets, have been wounded, during the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. There is a great need for returning Veterans to get medical attention and rehabilitation. I flipped over to Fox & Friends, this morning. F&F, had the Mayor of Philadelphia on, and he was explaining why the Philadelphia Zoo should receive 20 million dollars, to address the Zoo's infrastructure (from the stimulus bill). This 20 million dollars will create 222 jobs. I don't exactly understand how 20 million dollars to the Philadelphia Zoo, stimulates the Country's Economy? MR. KILMEADE: In Philadelphia they want infrastructure for the children's zoo -- another zoo issue! I did note the contrast between the two different segments, one on Fox & Friends, and the other on Imus in the Morning. Our Government isn't addressing our Military Service People's health needs, returning from duty with REAL health concerns but our Government is going to take 20 million of taxpayers dollars for Zoo infrastructure? Meanwhile Bill White and others are trying to raise private dollars - from donations, to take care of our wounded American Military Service People. To say that the people in Congress have their priorities upside down, would be an understatement. Where is the leadership from the Commander and Chief?
This is an open letter to President Obama, from a Marine Wife you can read Here At Villainous Company

Kinky is still writing for Texas Monthly every other month. The next issue coming out in March. Kinky refers to the upcoming Governor contest between Rick Perry & Kay Hutchinson as the contest of the cheerleaders. They discuss where Imus's famous catch phrase "I'm Not Happy Till You're Not Happy" originated. Kinky wants to run on the Democrat ticket for Governor. Kinky runs Utopia Rescue Ranch. Kinky and Imus discuss Obama's administration so far. Kinky says he's fine but it was a mistake to bail out the "Banksters" It is creating this angry rising tide of populism. Kinky believes that the state of Texas is moving toward Populism.

There was a famous resident of this Circus Store. A Gorilla named Ivan, yes I remember Ivan. Did I understand even when I was young Ivan's captivity, and the reason for his captivity a draw for curiosity seekers? My memory of Ivan was that of a Gorilla kept in vicinity of humans with in our reach sometimes. Ivan didn't look happy - he didn't look unhappy. Probably if I could describe what I witnessed as a child, and it is colored by my knowledge as an Adult, I would say he looked bored. I am among the many that were happy that Ivan was transferred to a Zoo in Atlanta. Ivan has been painting, and some of his Art Work is on display. You can read more about Ivan's life Here and an older article Here.
I would like to see Ivan again someday. Do I like the idea Ivan is in a Zoo? I understand his reality, he was meant to be in the Wild but that can't happen at least now he has other Gorillas, and not just us for Company. He took up painting, what an interesting enduring spirit this famous Silverback displays. Here is a link to Ivan on you tube, I guess this is what happens once you get the circus life in your blood....

The American premiere of Richard Goodwin's The Hinge of the World — directed by Edward Hall — will play the B.U. Theatre March 6-April 5, 2009. The play, according to the Huntington, "captures the moment 400 years ago when Galileo raised his telescope to the skies and created theories that shook society to its core. As word spreads from Venice to Rome, the scientist becomes a target for Pope Urban VIII and his Catholic brethren. Brought before the Holy Inquisition, Galileo is forced to choose between his religion and his life's work in this intelligent, thought-provoking epic drama about the struggle between reason and faith."

The book will be a primer for all the Americans who didn't vote for the Democrat candidate - how to live in America. Sooo, we all have the World According To Alan Colmes to look forward to. Alan might want to check out this title first "The World According to Garp" just to make sure there is no redundancy in his account. Imus discusses some of the Fox News channel line up, and Tom Daschle, all the Obama nominees Tax Problems ect. Alan thinks Daschle's red glasses make him look like a circus freak.....okay I will allow Colmes is qualified to discuss circus freak criteria. Searching for the ghost of Buddy Holly in Clear Lake, Iowa.
by Michael Hallit came out of the sky about five miles north of Clear Lake, Iowa, and slammed into the frozen earth. The right wing dug a six-inch-deep furrow for 57 feet as it disintegrated into bits of fabric and metal. The fuselage bounced hard, careening and ripping apart over the next 500 feet while the nose gear, door frame, and tail cone were all smashed loose and scattered, until what was left of the red Beechcraft B35 Bonanza finally came to rest against a barbed-wire fence at one end of a long, empty cornfield. It was just past 1 a.m. Deep inside the twisted mass was the body of the pilot. Outside lay the bodies of three young men who had been thrown from the plane at more than 100 miles per hour. They had all been killed on impact, their bodies broken, their heads smashed open. Keep Reading Here and Here

Burt Lancaster comments on making "Go Tell The Spartans" I highly recommend Go Tell The Spartans, one of the better, and I believe overlooked movies about our involvement in Vietnam.
This town had a pond large as a lake where a plague-bearing dragon dwelled that envenomed all the countryside. To appease the dragon, the people of Silene used to feed it a sheep every day, and when the sheep failed, they fed it their children, chosen by lottery.
It happened that the lot fell on the king's daughter. The king, distraught with grief, told the people they could have all his gold and silver and half of his kingdom if his daughter were spared; the people refused. The daughter was sent out to the lake, decked out as a bride, to be fed to the dragon.
Saint George by chance rode past the lake. The princess, trembling, sought to send him away, but George vowed to remain.
The dragon reared out of the lake while they were conversing. Saint George fortified himself with the Sign of the Cross, charged it on horseback with his lance and gave it a grievous wound. Then he called to the princess to throw him her girdle and put it around the dragon's neck. When she did so, the dragon followed the girl like a meek beast on a leash. She and Saint George led the dragon back to the city of Silene, where it terrified the people at its approach. But Saint George called out to them, saying that if they consented to become Christians and be baptised, he would slay the dragon before them.
The king and the people of Silene converted to Christianity, George slew the dragon, and the body was carted out of the city on four ox-carts. "Fifteen thousand men baptized, without women and children." On the site where the dragon died, the king built a church to the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint George, and from its altar a spring arose whose waters cured all disease.
Traditionally, the sword with which St. George slew the dragon was called Ascalon, a name recalling the city of Ashkelon, Israel. From this tradition, the name Ascalon was used by Winston Churchill for his personal aircraft during World War II (records at Bletchley Park), since St. George is the Patron Saint of England.
