The Declaration of Independence of the United States of America. We hold these Truths to be self evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
Pelosi appeals for China's help on climate change by Audra Ang, Associated Press, 28 May 2009.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, "We have so much room for improvement," she said. "Every aspect of our lives must be subjected to an inventory ... of how we are taking responsibility."
Where in the Constitution of The United States of America, does it state "FREE PEOPLE" have to have every aspect of our lives subjected to an inventory of how we are taking responsibility? I don't remember electing Nancy Pelosi to inventory my life? I don't remember asking anyone in the U.S. Government to inventory my life, it's none of their business. I am an American Citizen, I have the RIGHT to Life, Liberty and The Pursuit of Happiness, PERIOD.
We are a Republic, based on Laws and we have RIGHTS. We have the right not be subjected to the political whims, trends and mechanization of government bureaucrats.
Climate change is in dispute. Cap & Trade is considered to be a huge, regressive tax, on the American People. Someone show me in the Constitution of The United States of America, where the Government of WE THE PEOPLE has a right to tax Americans punitively over disputed Climate change?

Laura is correct Judge Sotomayer is being pitched to the American People, using her personal narrative. The same thing was done by marketers during the last Presidential campaign, when Barack H Obama's personal story was being highlighted. Although Governor Sarah Palin's personal story was derided in the mainstream media. Peggy Noonan, even commented she didn't understand why the Republicans insisted on using the personal narrative. PN: The most qualified? No! I think they went for this — excuse me– political bullshit about narratives. No double standard here folks just keep moving along/sarc. Make no mistake Marketers are shaping and selling political perception. Marketers know what resonates with the American public. They are constantly studying American habits to figure out what works. Marketers know how to pitch products to American consumers. That is why in the mainstream media, it seems like we are constantly being sold on one politician or another. For example, compare the current news cycle treatment of Senator Burris, compared to the coverage of Judge Sotomayer.
Imus confides to Laura, that when she fills in for Bill O'Reilly, on his Fox News Program The Factor, That Imus, Charles, Bernie, and Lou have started watching her with the sound on. Laura, has reached the perfect pitch.

Imus Guest this morning, Howard Kurtz, host of Reliable Sources CNN. Imus starts quizzing Howard Kurtz first thing. Howard Kurtz, has done his homework. They discuss whether the latest North Korean underground nuclear test, will have any consequences. He admits to Imus he doesn't know who the hell is running North Korea, it's a tough situation. Howard Kurtz still can't produce that communist card GRIN. I'm just saying if Howard Kurtz, really were a card carrying communist, he would know who is running communist North Korea. Howard Kurtz, doesn't know who the President's Supreme Court pick is going to be. Howard, filpped around the channels this morning, and stopped on Fox News, not knowing what Imus would ask him. Howard admits to Imus he always thought that empathy was a good thing. Mr Kurtz, Lady Justice is wearing a blind fold this is intentional. Justice is supposed to be blind. Imus scolds Howard, for not watching American Idol, isn't that your job? Howard Kurtz, more familiar with watching the news, tries his best to determine the voting rules for American Idol. The topic of President Obama and Vice President Cheney's dueling speeches last week comes up. Imus quizzes Howard Kurtz, on the number of deferments Dick Cheney and Joe Biden, had during the Vietnam War. Howard is flunking this line of questioning. Howard Kurtz thinks that it is a good thing we have a President that didn't serve in Vietnam because we have been having the Vietnam service argument for the last 40 years. Going back to familiar ground, Imus wants to know who, Howard thinks is doing the best on Sunday mornings.....you will have to listen to the interview to find out who Howard Kurtz likes. My favorite is Chris Wallace of Fox News, He's Sassy!

This photo is of my Grandfather Edward Henry Day. On the right Edward Henry Day and his younger brother on the left George Francis Day. My Grandfather lied about his age to join the Marine Corp in 1917. He stated he was born in 1898 but he was actually born in 1901. He would have been 16 years old when he enlisted in the Marine Corp. Grandpa Ed was born on a farm in Ft Collins, Colorado. His father George Washington Day, who served in the U.S. military from (1896-1897) worked as a switch hand for the Rail Road. George W Day's father Henry H Day also worked for the Rail Road. Henry H Day's father in-law John Jasper Stowers, served as a corporal from Indiana in the Union Army, during the Civil War. Through the Stowers family my Grandfather Edward Henry Day, descends from early Jamestown, Virginia settlers, Thomas Hatchett & Nathaniel Bass families. From his mother's side of the family he goes back to well known English families Cooksey, Calvert & Fairfax, they resided in the Northern Neck of Virginia. George Calvert his direct ancestor, owned land near Quantico, called The Triangle. My Grandfather's paper work from WWI era service is from Quantico Marine Base, Prince William Co.,Virginia. Grandpa Ed, got his nickname "Dutch" because of his maternal Great Grandfather Oliver Owen Hogeboom. Grandpa Ed's maternal Great Grandfather Alexander Fairfax Cooksey, is buried in the National Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee he died during the Civil War.
I never knew my Grandfather but I have been told about his life from my mother, father, siblings, and his step children. My mother was his only child. When recounting memories of Grandpa Ed, the main theme, that is consistent through all the narratives: Grandpa Ed was a hard worker. In fact if the man had to be summed up in only a word it would be Work.
He began with a career in the Marine Corp, before he was old enough to serve. Grandpa served in Santo Domingo, Spain. He got out of the Marine Corp 1920 (Discharged from, 203rd Casual Co.,M.B. Quantico, Va.,).....He didn't exactly have a smooth separation from the Marine Corp, he got in trouble for drinking. I know that is a difficult mental picture to make jive because everyone knows what teetotalers the Marines are GRIN. Grandpa surfaced in a Bakery south of St Louis in St Francois County, Missouri, where he met and married his first wife Ethel Currington. This marriage didn't last long as his mother in-law had the marriage annulled. He went home to his Mom by 1920, he is living with his mother and her second husband Ray Hixon in Omaha, Nebraska. To this day we don't know why she divorced her first husband. It can't be that he lacked a sense of humor because in my Grandfather's photo album, he saved a letter from his father, post marked 1938 Cheyenne, Wyoming. The letter read: I sent your mother a photo I recently had taken of myself but apparently she didn't like it because she didn't answer me back. From Omaha Grandpa moved up to Montana, where he worked as a ranch hand for the Curtis Hugh Hutchins family in Bonita, Montana. He did have relatives from his mother's side of the family living in Florence, Montana at this time so maybe that's how he ended up so far north? Curtis Hugh Hutchins would die from tick fever, and his widow my grandmother Cornelia May McFarland, would marry my Grandfather a few months later. This isn't that uncommon she was left with a ranch and 6 children. My Grandmother was twelve years my Grandfather's senior. Unless you go by his math then nine years his senior. By the 1930s he worked as a Cook for the Montana Forestry Department at Bonita, Montana. By 1933 he is working in a CCC Camp in Lacroix, Wisconsin . By 1940s my Grandparents, had opened a restaurant in Eugene, Oregon, the West Lane Cafe. I have the wooden covered guest book from this restaurant, starting with the date 1943. By the mid 1940s they are back in Montana, my mom and dad meet while he is stationed at Ft Missoula. By the 1950s, my Grandfather and Father are laying the masonry of the east wing lobby of the hospital, I will eventually be born in. That hospital has since been demolished 1999 because the "Sisters Of Profit" decided they needed a parking lot. I went and picked out some bricks from the rubble, I still have two of them.
By the late 1950s my Grandfather, who apparently could take just about anything you loaded on his shoulders, lost his beloved wife Nelia. My Grandmother had been in the hospital for a heart condition, and had been home maybe a week. I was in a bassinet in the living room. My older sisters came home from school, and went into her room to check on her, where they found she had died apparently in her sleep. When my Grandfather came home from work that day, he saw all the cars people, and family outside of the house. My father did his best to go out, and get to him first to let him know what happened. My sister remembers, he was devastated, he was crying, and before anyone said anything to him he said "No, no, no, not my Nelie" He bought a headstone for the two of them. My Grandmother's information is complete, he had his name added, believing he would be buried next to her. Some of my family were even under the impression he was buried next to my Grandmother but he isn't. My Grandfather went back to Flat River, Missouri, and married his first wife again, she also had been widowed, and shortly there after he died of a heart attack. He is buried in his wife's family plot - next to his reluctant mother in law for all eternity.
My siblings have told me stories about Grandpa, how he liked to eat his peas with a knife, how our Grandmother didn't like it, she was a pretty classy woman. He let my eldest sister drive an old army jeep in our fruit orchard for fun, she had to be ten years old or younger. He had a temper, my sister remembers our Grandmother telling her to clean her plate, and Grandpa taking her plate cleaning it off into his own, and turning to his wife said, Happy Now? When doing dishes my sister would complain to him this ones still dirty. He would say, that's the person drying the dishes job. (Marine Training?) My sister would tell me, how he would wake her up before dawn on Saturdays, and they would go down to the kitchen, and make home made maple bars, then they would put them in paper sacks. They would get in the car, and stop at each of his step children's houses. He would start their coffee for them before they got up, and leave a sack of home made maple bars. We all got a keep sake from our Grandmother, and mine was a black onyx cocktail ring with a diamond in the center. This was a gift from my Grandfather, he bought it or won it on a visit to Wallace, Idaho. Wallace, Idaho was infamous for vice back in the day, any vice you could think of they had it, and as the story goes my Grandfather would go to Wallace to gamble. My mother relayed a story about Grandpa Ed, when they took a trip down to Hawthorne, California to visit his mother, this would be in the 1930s so depression era. My Grandparents went to the grocery store to buy groceries so their visit would not cause an undue financial burden. They went out again came back, and his mother had put all the groceries under her bed. So they went out again bought more groceries came back, and made dinner. My Grandfather's mother, like other people who were living through the Great Depression, spent a lot of time worrying about having enough food. My Grandfather's position, if it helped his mother feel better having food stored under her bed, so be it. God Bless You Grandpa Ed, hope you get Memorial Day off, from your mother in law ;)

Paul Begala starts spinning President Obama's flip flopping on releasing the Abu Ghraib photos. Begala: good for him, it's another way he is different from Bush. Begala I know they will try to spin President Obama's flip flopping.
I believe Paul Begala when he states people - the political opposition, will start spinning the President's political decisions. Begala has no rival when it comes to political spin. Paul weighs in on Joe Biden, disclosing where the VP bat cave is located. This just in: Paul decides he thinks Nancy Pelosi might be telling the truth.....Imus doesn't buy it, and thinks, Paul Begala might need a torture session himself.
Watch out for that "Political Karma" Mr Begala. Sometimes Karma can be a real Bitch. The U.S. is at the beginning of what Great Britain is reaping after 10 years of the same financial policies, proposed by our Progressive led Government, that are being instituted here in the U.S. right now. You can read about, and watch the video of the results of those policies in Great Britain Here On Logistic Monster. There is an old warning that fits, although I believe it is being widely ignored "If You Sow The Wind - You Will Reap The Whirlwind"
You can listen to Paul Begala this morning on Imus In The Morning HERE.

Participate in this event and help benefit these fine organizations...
The CJ Foundation for SIDS, recognized as the leading SIDS organization in the country.
The organization is dedicated to supporting the special needs of the SIDS community through funding SIDS research, support services and public awareness programs. Since its inception, it has provided millions of dollars to SIDS researchers, organizations, support programs and public education and awareness campaigns throughout the nation, making possible remarkable strides in its fight to eliminate SIDS.
Twenty-six years ago, 16 parents whose children were diagnosed with cancer, turned to one another for support. Their dream, once modest, became the Tomorrows Children’s Fund, dedicated to easing the pain and speeding the healing of children fighting cancer or a serious blood disorder. Tomorrows Children’s Fund provides emotional, social and financial assistance as treatment is received and every year over 1,000 children and families turn here for support. The vision has become a reality today – offering a future of hope for many and being committed to ensuring a cure for each child who enter the doors of Tomorrows Children at Hackensack University Medical Center.
Imus Ranch is an authentic working cattle ranch near Ribera, New Mexico and was conceived and designed with the sole purpose of providing the experience of the great American cowboy to children suffering from cancer or serious blood disorders, and children who’ve lost brothers and sisters to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. The objectives are to encourage in them a sense of achievement, responsibility and self-esteem, and to instill pride and restore their dignity as they become aware of just how much they are able to accomplish. Many have become convinced that because they are sick they are not normal. At Imus Ranch they quickly discover that they can do anything any other kid can do. Our experience has shown that when children suffering from these frightening illnesses are exposed to programs such as those offered by Imus Ranch it often actually contributes to their healing and recovery.

NEW YORK -- After years of allowing fast-food competitors to take potshots at its high-priced coffee, traditionally advertising-shy Starbucks is fighting back with an ad campaign that reminds consumers "It's not just coffee. It's Starbucks."
"The coffee world is getting increasingly crowded and competitive and there is a conversation about coffee that is being had and we have not been a part of it," said Terry Davenport, CMO of Starbucks. "There are many things we do—from the quality of our coffee to the values we have as a company—that are very relevant." Convenience Store News May 4th, 2009. Keep Reading Here.
