Salmons & Progressives, Down By The Seaside

Bears Attending Salmon Summit.

In all fairness to the Progressives, and all the flack they have been taking lately. Who thought that they were going to behave any differently after last weeks' Summit?

Kokanee salmon is a land-locked form of sockeye salmon. I have been to Glacier National Park, McDonald Creek, to watch Bald Eagles feed on returning Salmon. The forestry department set up telescopes, and viewing stations, for people to watch this annual ritual play out, from around October to December.

Folklore has it that the fish return to the exact spot where they were born to spawn; tracking studies have shown this to be true but the nature of how this memory works has long been debated.

The annual Salmon Run, has turned into an anticipated snack for Sashimi lovers. SEE Bears above.

Progressives are a lot like Salmon, they have to swim against the current of unpopular public opinion, made up of the majority of Americans. Many Progressive are descendants of the New Left.

Like the Salmon, the Progressive is responding to instinct - the survival of the species, in this case the "Progressive Movement" not the survival of Individual Progressives.

What happens to the Progressive Movement, if they don't manage to pass Universal Health Care? I have read a lot about the Democrats passing (A) bill ,who knows what's in it, because there is no bill yet, and passing whatever the bill turns out to be, using reconciliation. The Progressives are responding to their natural instincts - this WAVE is getting ready to hit. Their behavior has been described as suicidal but let's not forget they also feed bears.

I believe we are witnessing the Progressive wave cresting, their last gasp, their last chance at achieving over arching political power. They are responding to something within themselves ?political survival? but not some thing, that wasn't unforeseen by our founders, when they set up The Separation of Powers.

Out in the country, hear the people singin'

Singin' 'bout their progress, knowin' where they're goin'

Oh, oh, oh, oh, the people turned away
Yes, the people turned away

See how they run, see how they run, see how they run, see how they run.
