Here is a beautiful piece of Americana, a vintage Columbia stem wind, lever set in Hunters Case that is still ticking after all these years. The watch winds, sets and runs. The hands and second hand work. The watch has an engraved gold plate Carrollton hunting case with yellow double hinges that open and close properly. Latches work well. The case has some wear but no real noticeable dents. The outside of the case looks fairly good for an old fellow that obviously traveled a lot of miles in someone's pocket. However, there are some spots, scratches and finger prints inside of the covers. It has a ribbed edge design with a leaf and flower design with an elk in the center on the back and carries out the same fancy flower design on the front. Has Columbia printed on the face. White dial with black roman Numeral markers with black hands. It's fun to open the back and watch the mechanical movement. It has Columbia U.S.A. on the movement and has blue screws. Clear crystal with no chips or cracks. The case is a light muted gold tone. Camera flash colors are not always an exact match. Outside of case is gold fill, inside gold plate. 7 jewels. According to the local jeweler, it is around 100 years old. Case size is 0. Leverset on bezel must be lifted to set time with crown. This is not battery operated this is an antique. I have wound it to make sure it keeps time. But I don't know what time zone it will end up in so I am not going to set the time.
