Waymarking - Dr Seuss' Sculpture Garden & First Lady, Kicks Off Reading Across America

The Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden is located at the Springfield Museums in Springfield, Massachusetts, the city where Theodor Seuss Geisel was born.

Sculptor Lark Grey Dimond-Cates, who is also Geisel's step-daughter, created the bronze sculptures of Dr. Seuss and his most beloved characters for the Springfield Library & Museums Association. The $6.2 million project was funded through a variety of public and private sources, led by a generous gift from Mrs. Geisel. Read more at

Mrs. Obama helped kick off the National Education Association's annual "Read Across America" project Tuesday at the Library of Congress.

The event marked the day that Dr. Seuss would have turned 106. Keep Reading HERE.

There will also be an object left at the location. An extra point will be awarded for physically finding the item at the cache site. Somewhere in the game a special item will be left, and whoever finds it will get 2 extra points. A photo or a detailed email describing the "find" and the name of the identified location. I will go by whoever gets the information to me first, will win that round. I will go by time stamp on email or comment, in blog comment section.

It's not necessary to find the object physically, points are awarded by identifying the location with a GPS, Google Earth, or local knowledge. I will be providing longitude and latitude, and photo clues, I will be posting up on "You Have To Be This Tall To Go On This Ride Blog Spot.
