The Plums Are Lost In The Past " Clue VII "

Recap:The Plums barreling down a 6 lane highway, going 70 miles an hour, found themselves lost. Due to the high concrete side keeping the traffic funneled in, their GPS had lost its signal. Mr. P. was not in good humor, they had been on a one way street going in the wrong direction and wanted no more of that. The Colonel stated “what I need is a compass; you know North, South, and East..." America finished the sentence for him "West". She thought for a minute and dug into the glove box, the kind that contains everything but gloves. She found what she looked for, a small compass they had used to set their satellite dish, or something back home. Mrs. Plum gave it to Mr. Plum and as soon as the sun broke through he had them heading south again. America Plum smiled to herself and thought, "isn't it great to have such an intelligent husband?”

After leaving the big city, famous for their deep dish pizzas, America and her husband had wanted to check out the miles and miles of cornfields they had heard about. When they arrived there, they found nothing! The corn hadn't been planted yet... Fields and fields of plowed earth were all you could see for miles.

Up late the next day after moving into the Eastern Time zone, the Plums left the motel and were ready to travel on. However America was still a bit tired and there for silly so when she noticed a sign that said Domino Farms, she asked The Colonel if he thought pizzas grew there. He said "either that or dominoes. The little black and white pieces of wood have to come from somewhere".

When going 100 plus more miles, America Plum and her husband the Colonel get to the first cemetery that has a relative’s grave, in actuality, two graves, possibly 4 graves! The last 2 have to be verified. Mr. P's Uncle and his wife are buried there. The information on his Uncle's tombstone mentions he was born in New York. That is a long ways east! But off they go.

Marley made friends with a lady at Lamy’s Diner. She was kind enough to tell us how the diner operated and even how people could order one completely equipped, even with dishes. The frills depended on how much money the owner of the diner wanted to spend. The Plums and Marley left a little sad, they weren’t able to have a sundae, perhaps because it was Monday?
