I remember the last candidate that ran as all things to all people. Americans fell in love with a Rorschach test. Former Governor Jon Huntsman, of Utah, recently referred to Mitt Romney as a well oiled weather vane. Mitt Romney has a reputation of sticking his finger in the wind to gauge popular public opinion, before taking a position of his own. The American people already know which way the wind is blowing. They need a candidate that is storm tested, and can stand firm when ill winds are buffeting the country. Governor Rick Perry, the strong, Christian conservative candidate, has already shown he can handle real storms, not just metaphorical economical storms. For instances Katrina, Rita, and Ike. When hurricanes hit the gulf coast, Texas steps up, and Governor Rick Perry leads in the recovery. There is a reason Governor Bobby Jindal, of Louisiana, endorsed Governor Rick Perry.

How does this kind of campaign strategy work out? I seem to recall that Christine O'Donnell lost to Chris Coons her democrat opponent, in her bid for U.S. Senate. So there's that.

The granite state's motto is "Live Free or Die". I think New Hampshire just got hustled by a hustler, who is trying to run the table, on his republican primary candidate rivals. Not unlike the character in the movie "The Color of Money" starring Paul Newman "Limousine Liberal". There are so many movie references to Mitt Romney's Bain Capital tenure, I don't think I will be able to cover them all. Newt Gingrich accused Mitt Romney of trying to buy the office of the President of the United States. "He doesn't tell the truth" Gingrich said. Mitt Romney's lack of veracity has also been pointed out by Governor Rick Perry, Romney's Remedy. Senator John McCain just endorsed Mitt Romney, here is a video of John McCain going through Mitt Romney's Liberal Laundry List. Meanwhile Newt Gingrich is going to release an attack ad against Mitt Romney titled "The King of Bain". I decided to look up the dictionary definition of the closest spelling to Bain. Bane definition, a person or thing that causes misery or distress ( esp a bane in of one's Life). Mitt Romney's not really popular with (L)BGT either.

Money doesn't have an agenda, money doesn't care if you have a job or if you don't. Wall Street has turned into the kind of financial industry, that has learned how to manipulate capital to keep money flowing into their own pockets - crony capitalist. Yeah, I've seen that movie too.

Imus guest this morning, Frank Rich, stated that Barack Obama's foreign policy hasn't been a complete disaster, and anyway Americans are not focused on foreign policy. Americans are focused on the economy and unemployment. He stated that Rick Perry, wants to invade Iraq. Uh no Frank, he wants to clean up the mess, the Obama administration has made of U.S. foreign policy. The question isn't whether we are going to end up back in Iraq, the question is when. We are a petroleum based "economy" and the stability of Iraq effects our national security. Apparently the present administration playing politics with our national security put's Obama's failure to negotiate a status of forces agreement a plus in Frank Rich's estimation.

The only republican primary candidate that answered the question correctly, during last Saturday night's ABC debate, about our foreign policy in regards to Iraq was Governor Rick Perry.

"The idea that we allow the Iranians to come back into Iraq and take over that country, with all of the treasures, both in blood and money, that we have spent in Iraq- because this president wants to kowtow to his liberal leftist base, and move out those men and women. Does Gov Perry have a point? Iran has threatened to close the Straits of Hormuz. Has the Obama administrations failure to negotiate a status of forces agreement with the current Iraqi government emboldened the Iranians? Is the Iranian threat being down played by the media?

FYI Mr Rich, if the oil supply is slowed down or cut off to the United States, that effects our economy, and our national security. I am spit-balling, but when voters are gassing up, and prices at the pump are spiking, our foreign policy is going to be front and center in voter's concerns. Gas prices set to spike next summer, before the election.

According to Frank Rich, the act of signing off on the mission to raid the Bin Laden compound in Pakistan, something any sitting President would have been expected to support, is the shining accomplishment of the Obama administrations foreign policy. I had every intention of writing this post on the 1st day of this year, but time just kept getting away from me :) What is in store for the United States in the upcoming year? I don't know, I'm not a prognosticator - I'm a procrastinator. We know that the Mayan calender ends 12-21-12, which has been interpreted to mean many different possibilities. Some think it's a sign that the world ends, others believe that the common era is ending, and a new era beginning. I don't know perhaps the Mayan's only chisel maker died. It's entirely possible the Mayan's were the kind of people who just didn't think ahead. In comparison, Americans are forward looking people, our calenders go on into infinity, that's how optimistic we are about the future. I was reading about the Iowa caucus turnout for the Republican primary to gauge Republican voter enthusiasm.

Iowa caucus voters, January 3rd, 2012 who voted 122,255. Representative Ron Paul won 21% to place 3rd. All of Rep Ron Paul's support is not Republican, he had 44% share of the Independent's vote. With respect to the first question, entrance polling puts the number of independents who voted in the GOP caucuses at about 23% of the turnout or approximately 28,000 voters. Rep Ron Paul polled 44% of that independent vote. Subtracting all the Independents voting in the Iowa caucus on January 3rd, would leave a much smaller amount of actual Republicans participating in their own caucus. Which would point to lower enthusiasm among Republican voters.

I have my own theory of what is driving down Republican voter enthusiasm in the Republican primary. Corporate media's non stop schilling of the vanilla candidate, that can't poll over 25% and is celebrated as a success for not being able to appeal to 75% of the Republican base. It must be campaign season, looks like Joe Six Pack is making a comeback. The current President of the United States Barack H Obama, takes the beer test seriously. The President has attended Beer Summits, he's thrown some back with the people, who put Beer on the Map. The President responded to a request by a decorated U.S. Military service person, to share a Beer at a meet up. The President has recently had a Beer with an unemployed man in Florida. The list of Beer photo ops is endless for President Obama. Does President Obama relate to the common man, aka Joe Six Pack or is President Obama, Joe Six Pack himself? President Obama, even makes his own Beer in the White House. This isn't a new tradition. Our 1st President George A Washington, also produced his own hoptastic beverage.

Let's run down the list of the Republican Presidential hopefuls. I am going to start with the Governors. My reasoning is, the candidates with executive experience, are going to have the edge in 2012. Our current President, came out of the United States Senate, with no previous executive experience. There is one current, and four past Governors running for President of the United States, on the Republican ticket. Gov Rick Perry, TX, former Governors, Mitt Romney MA, Jon Huntsman UT, Buddy Roemer LA, Gary Johnson NM.

Mitt "If you like your ethanol subsidies, you can keep your ethanol subsidies" Romney, has been flirting with front runner status since he declared. Unfortunately Mitt Romney's religion prohibits drinking alcohol, coffee, tea, anything that includes a stimulant, like cola beverages. The same goes for another Governor in the race, Jon "I consult experts" Huntsman. Both of these candidates have made their positions clear on Anthropgenic Global Warming. They both believe in the AGW phenomena. That being the case, dairy cows have been found to be one of the causes of the AGW due to methane, technocratic term - cow farts, so I am guessing sharing a glass of milk is out. This means we won't be able to gauge Gov Romney or Gov Huntsman's relatability status, Beer drinking to Joe Six Pack ratio.

First Lady of Texas Anita Perry, has stated, that her husband is being attacked "brutalized" in her own words by her husband's own political party, and the media. The reason for this she believes is because her husband, Governor Rick Perry is a Christian, and a Conservative.

Governor Perry has given his reasons for entering the race for the U.S. Presidency. The reason that I remember is his discussion with his wife. They discussed the shape the country is in, and the continuing high unemployment, and economic downward spiral. Mrs Perry, is worried about the shape our country is in, and believes her husband could turn things around given the opportunity.

I am an Independent, and the RNC is misreading Independent voter's concerns/issues again. Apparently the RNC is still waging the last war - 2008. They want to run a clone of Barack Obama against President Barack Obama. We have had another election since 2008, the mid term election of 2010, had the Independents swinging back to the right. Why? The TEA party fiscal conservative -small government message. Rick Perry has good political instincts, and he has a good bead on the "present" concerns of the American people.

Governor Rick Perry has donned the mantle of the Christian Conservative candidate for President of the United States. The Armor of God cannot be taken up, and or discarded lightly. The Perry's look battle weary already. Instead of happily carrying their banner of faith into the political arena, they look discouraged. I would remind the Perrys, that nothing worth winning ever comes easy. The Perry's should take a page out of the Blues Brother's book ;)

I have been watching the coverage of "Occupy Wall Street" in fact the Occupy anything movement is all over facebook. Here is a link to "Occupy Canada". To each their own, but Occupy Canada, talk about jumping the great white land shark. What exactly would the argument be to want to Occupy Canada again?

I was reading this post on Hot Air by Allahpundit, Van Jones: It's time for an "American Autumn? in the spirit of the Arab Spring. My first thought was, bless Allah's heart, he's trying to squeeze some more juice from the Van Jones media turnip. Glenn Beck milked that green jobs huckster for everything he was worth. For some reason Van Jones decided to surface, to add his two cents, to the evils of capitalism narrative. Why now? I thought about it, the Obama administration, has had it's problems, with what his ex press secretary, Robert Gibbs, dubbed "The Professional Left" and recently the hard left has received the new moniker "Firebaggers" for the ultra liberal firedoglake. Occupying is the new trend, surely this is a sign, we are well into the 2012 campaign season. What purpose could it serve for Van Jones, to resurface now? I suspect a diversion, media manipulation really isn't that difficult, especially with a cooperative corporate media. While the public is focusing on Van Jones, they are not focusing on the green energy initiative fiasco. It's an old illusionist trick, sleight of hand, focusing attention on one hand ,while using the other hand to pull off the trick. It's really not that difficult to figure out what's behind the media manipulation, always follow the ~~money~~ Green Backs.

With the presidential election coming up, and the Obama administration unpopular with the professional left, it sure would be helpful to construct some kind of movement, to show the hard left aka Barack Obama's base, that they are all pursuing the same agenda. But as the old saying goes, Rome wasn't built in a day. I have been watching footage from "Occupy Wall Street" it appears that generation unwashed, showed up. They may be confused, they may be deluded, but when you're running for reelection, and trying to put up a false front for your base, you make due with what shows up. No I am not worried about Van Jones, and Oktober, although I can see how that would help the Republicans herd the paranoid into their pens (Fear mongering making a comeback). I am amused, that the progressive left keeps ripping off Mel Brooks. This is the best they can come up with? Herding the vocationally unoccupied, out in front of the New York Stock Exchange? Meanwhile unbeknownst to firedoglake, Jamie Dimon head of JP Morgan Chase, adviser to President Barack Obama, and limousine liberal, is meeting with so called conservative businessman Mitt Romney, Republican presidential hopeful. I think the far left, and right in this country are letting the space between their ears be occupied by a false front-artificial narrative, that doesn't stand up to close scrutiny. They could try looking past the superficial media explanations, and think for themselves, but the odds of that happening are slim to none . I've seen that movie too. Apparently Sean Hannity & Bill O'Reilly, have figured out, this isn't the Bolshevik revolution. It does however keep the proles occupied ;)

The Purpose Of A False Front.

My personal opinion, Lincoln has been lionized, popular accounts of his life, and Presidency have been sanitized for the masses. Was Abraham Lincoln a significant President in our history? I don't think that's even debatable, he did keep the Union together. Many of Lincoln's shortcomings, and controversial opinions on slavery for instance, do not get the same attention, and focus as Lincoln's positive accomplishments. To get a picture of who Lincoln the man was during his times, it's important to take into account, his negatives as well as his positives. I have witnessed modern historians lionizing, sanitizing Lincoln, for example a group of Lincolnphiles. I have witnessed the same behavior with Jacksonphiles, Indian removal ( Cherokee removal Georgia, Jackson “Build a fire under them. When it gets hot enough, they'll move.) Spinning historical Presidencies through the sentimental politically correct prism-ism of today's modern trends, entertaining, but are they accurate? How do I know that our current written watered down politically correct histories are producing historical illiterates?

The purpose of a political primary election, is to determine who will be the respective political party's nominee, in the general election. During the primary season, the declared candidates will, attend political rallies, debates, kiss babies, lots, and lots of babies, they will appear on television, radio, and give interviews in what is described as a vetting process. Basically it's an opportunity for members of different political parties in this case the Republicans, to kick the tires, look under the hood, and slam the doors of the declared Presidential hopefuls. During this process, the candidates will be narrowed down through a process of elimination.

Which brings us to Representative Thaddeus McCotter, declared candidate for the Presidency of the United States, the media, and reindeer games.

REINDEER GAMES:

"Refers to any fun activities which are enjoyed only by members of a clique, the fact of which is often purposefully made obvious to anyone existing outside of said clique in order to make them feel inadequate and left-out. Refers to "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer".

Rep Thaddeus McCotter, has been left out of the last Republican debate. In fact he's not been able to participate in any of the Republican debates to date. Rep McCotter, and a few others are not meeting the Media's standard for inclusion into Republican debates. The standard required is to be polling at least at 4% in the Republican primary polls. The reason this standard was adopted as an industry standard is unclear. It appears that NBC network used it as their standard, and it became adopted by the other networks. Obviously our country has held elections before there ever was television, networks, and the media deciding for the electorate who they will watch and listen to in political debates. The media loves to pick our candidates for us.

Currently to meet the media's high standards, for inclusion into their debates: You are only required to make outrageous unsubstantiated claims, for instance "Gardasil vaccine cause retardation". And if you get some blow back, double down on your alleged 3rd hand heresy. It helps when holding political rallies, to mention American icons, and "Wish them a happy birthday on the anniversary of their death" You could highlight your social values. "Gay people can be cured of homosexuality through prayer". You might want to point out what you have in common with other famous Americans.

Thaddeus McCotter doesn't have a prayer of meeting the media standards. When the issue of Social Security, and it's solvency was questioned, McCotter responded with his plan to save the Social Security program HERE. I know what you're thinking, I don't think he get's it either. The people in this country are concerned with high chronic unemployment, the economy, and the long term viability of our social safety net - the future of entitlements. Sooo..... Shouldn't he be commenting about how orangy Jon Huntsman looked at the last debates? Surely Huntsman is using some toxic brand of spray on tan, that the FDA should never have approved. Why doesn't McCotter point out how dangerous our northern border has become? Has anyone noticed what's been crossing into the United States, from Canada lately? Canada, the great pink threat to the north, that everyone ignores. Romney was endorsed by Pawlenty, and Perry was endorsed by Jindal. Could McCotter land the most coveted endorsement of them all "The Motor City Mad Man". It wouldn't hurt if McCotter, would try portraying himself as a risk taker. McCotter, I dare you to sit through a film retrospective of your fello w Michigander. If only McCotter would stop running his campaign by responding to the urgent challenges facing Americans. And started accusing the other Republican candidates of a multitude of irrational, not fully thought out, real and or imagined political sins...maybe just maybe, the media would include him in their debates, not to be confused with public debates. The media would include him for no other reason than the entertainment value, and ratings. Because let's not kid ourselves folks, as a friend of mine recently remarked, Joplin Tornado Survivor - David Bell: A media event does not = a debate. Amen Brother Amen.

The level of American's naivete and gullibility are endearing qualities. They are part of our culture's charm. Except when we are circling the drain.

Don't take any wooden nickels was a popular saying back during the Great Depression. It was an admonishment to the huckleberries - the country rubes, not to be duped by the city slickers. It's still good advice today. Basically, don't let yourself be cheated or duped by fast talking hucksters.

I watched the President's speech given to the joint session of congress. Presenting the overview of his new bill - The American Jobs Act. During President Obama's, he repeated pass this bill 17 times, without explaining specifically, what the bill would entail. How much "The American Jobs Act" would cost or how it would be paid for. The President expressed the urgent need to pass a bill, that he won't be explaining the specifics of, the "nickles and dimes" for a couple more weeks.

President Obama told Congress it's time to "stop the political circus and actually do something to help the economy."

If this bill needs passed so urgently, why hasn't it been given to both branches of congress to read? The current price tag of "The American Jobs Act" is 437 billion dollars. Remember, don't take any wooden nickles ;)

What happens in the woods - stays in the woods. Winter's Bone, is a well directed, character driven portrayal of life and choices in the backwoods. The movie is based on the book by author Daniel Woodrell, a resident of West Plains, located in the Ozarks. Winter's Bone has been nominated for four Oscars, directed by Debra Granik. This Indy movie is very well made. The director manages to get the audience to care about what happens to a Meth Addict, and his family. The scourge that is Meth production, and addiction in rural America is well documented. The movie doesn't waste time preaching about the evils of Meth. Winter's Bone is a movie about women, and absent adults.

There are two quotes in this movie that stuck with me. Ree Dolly, admonishes her distant kin:

"Some of our blood at least is the same. Ain't that supposed to mean something?"

The second quote comes from the feral matriarchal figure: "You Were Warned, Why didn't you listen?"
I don't want to spoil the movie for anyone. The quote comes after an incident, when the main character Ree Dolly, was told not to pursue the where abouts of her father.

Winter's Bone is a movie about survival, and the conditions that mold a person into a survivor. I have read comments like, the main character's strength at Seventeen Years Of Age is not believable, because no one could be that strong. Perhaps if the character was being motivated by fear that would be true. The main characters motivation isn't fear - it's survival. Survival trumps fear, in this account of a teenager, that has to become an adult before her time, because of her parent's life choices. When confronted with a huge challenge, Ree Dolly decides to be actively involved in the outcome of her own fate - not a bystander waiting for rescue.

And to answer Ree Dolly's question "Yes, Blood Ties Do Mean Something"

Life in the sticks, isn't for the tame or timid. I highly recommend this movie.

Gov. Chris Christie (R., N.J.) is catching heat from New Jersey Democrats over his administration’s handling of the blizzard. ABC News reports:

In New Jersey, where a post-Christmas blizzard dumped as much as 30 inches of snow in some parts of the state, the website PolitickerNJ reports that “some lawmakers Monday were grumbling” that Gov. Chris Christie, a Republican, as well as Lt. Gov Kim Guadagno, also a Republican, “were on vacation at the same time,” leaving state Senate President Steve Sweeney – a Democrat – as the state’s Acting Governor.

State Sen. Ray Lesniak, Democrat, chided the two for not better coordinating their calendars, noting that state Office of Emergency Management officials “aren’t allowed to go on vacation at the same time.”

Lesniak then took the opportunity to slam Guadagno. “I supported the creation of a Lt. Gov.,” said Lesniak. “That was a mistake. We clearly don’t need one.”

Why shouldn't the Governor of New Jersey get a family vacation? Wasn't the President of the United States on vacation in Hawaii? Was D.C. bereft of any need of snow removal?

I get why people are upset with Mike Bloomberg, Mayor of NYC., if you are a New Yorker attempting to salt your food he is all over you....but is he johnny on the spot when it comes to salting your roads? Not so much.

Snow happens, who is in charge of snow removal in New Jersey? Really the Governor of the state is in charge of snow removal? This must be the first time it ever snowed in New Jersey, and no one knew what to do SARC. It looks like Governor Christie, is coming home to a snowball fight. This is the best Democrats in the state of New Jersey can come up with? It reminds me of when hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana, and Democrat Governor Blanco, was on vacation.....oh wait no she wasn't, she was in the Governor's mansion, she had already declared an emergency on August 26th. I remember the media blamed Blanco, for her response to the hurricane. Oh that's right they blamed President George W Bush, for the federal government's response to the aftermath of the hurricane Katrina. Does that mean New Jersey snow removal was President Obama's responsibility? I guess he shouldn't have taken that family vacation to Hawaii. Ah Democrats always trying to roll snow up hill, that's not the general direction of what commonly rolls down hill.

Good morning, I thought I would write a day early and say Happy 2011 ! Oh my, what a cold end to the year ! Yesterday we woke up to 12 degrees, this morning it is 8 degrees.

Before the cold front came in, we had a nice moist snow this week, picture of snow bear below.

It's so cold in Idaho. How cold is it? The Bears are frozen stiff, and posing for photos. Below Cinnamon Bear, and although Sarah Palin was born in Idaho, you're not going to find this Bear featured on "Sarah Palin's Alaska"

Last night we had friends over to watch the show Who's Killing the Great Chef's of Europe. At the end of the show they try to kill the Pastry Chef with a bomb in her bombe, so I made a bombe for dessert, picture below also.

Life Is Da Bombe "Death By Chocolate - It's Just Desserts" America Plum's Bombe Making Recipe ;)

This is the cake, mousse next, the ganache.

The bombe was fashioned after Marcel Desaulniers’ (author of Death by Chocolate Cakes) Frozen Chocoalte Oh-Honey So-Fluffy Mousse Bombe.

Here are the recipes I used, not all exact to his.

The cake I used is Hershey’s perfectly chocolate cake. The recipe batter comes out thin, it is supposed to be. ½ of this recipe will be used for making the bombe, freeze the other cake layer for some other project, I don’t like trying to halve recipes. 350 degree oven. 2 nine inch greased and floured cake pans, must be 9 inch or recipe will over flow. Bake about 35 minutes.

2 C sugar

1-3/4 C flour

3/4C Hershey's cocoa

1-1/2 tsp baking powder

1-1/2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

2 eggs

1 C milk

½ C vegetable oil

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 C boiling water

Mix all pour in pans and bake.

Oh so fluffy mousse

5 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chopped up

¼ C warm water

¼ cup honey

4 Tbsp granulated sugar

3 large egg whites

2 Cups heavy cream

Melt chocolate put in bowl. In a pan bring water, honey and 2 Tblsp sugar to boil at soft ball stage. Turn off. Beat egg whites in bowl until soft peaks form, add boiling sugar mixture slowly, beating on high, beat until very thick. Fold chocolate into egg mixture. Next in clean bowl beat whip cream into whip cream. Then fold cream into chocolate/egg mixture.

Reserve 2 Cups mousse for next mousse.

Chocolate Pecan Mousse

3 ounces coarsely chopped semi-sweet chocolate melted

1 C pecans broken up

2 C fluffy mousse

Fold altogether

Glaze

8 ounces semisweet chocolate chopped

½ C heavy cream

¼ C honey

2 Tbsp unsalted butter

Put chocolate in bowl, put other 3 ingredients in pan, bring to a boil and then pour over chocolate to melt and stir until smooth.

Line a bowl with plastic wrap. Add oh so fluffy mousse. Add pecan mousse, press cake on top of mousse so air bubbles do not form. Freeze at least 6 hours. Take out of freezer, turn upside down on baking sheet equipped with wire rack. Remove all plastic wrap. Spoon glaze over top and move to cake plate. Freeze another 20 minutes, at least before serving. Decorate as desired. If getting fancy maybe use those tubes of cookie frosting in Supermarkets. I used left over glaze and a star tip.

Bill was responding to his interview with Imus, where Frank expounded on his "Stockholm Theory" as it regards to the President, tracking toward the center of our country's electorate - or as I like to refer to it, the Reasonable Middle.

In defense of Frank Rich, he still comes on a Fox News Network, when invited. I know CNN contributor James Carville, doesn't appear on Imus In The Morning anymore. I think Frank deserves to be cut some slack. The Swedes of all people are trying to extradite Ass'ange, from wherever - it's not like he isn't hiding in plain sight. Oh and Ecuador took back their offer of safe haven. After uploading and publishing 100s of thousands of classified documents, and pissing off just about everyone not inhabiting their parent's basement - Ass'ange can't seem to stop catching a break.

From what I have read Secretary of State Mrs Clinton, has been carrying out the duties of her office. Who does Julian Ass'ange think he is? " The Pollyanna of Hackers" In all honesty he comes off as a bit of a girl to me. I think the only reason the United States is moving on doing anything about Wikileaks is because of Ass'ange's threat to publish "Early next year, a major American bank will discover all its innermost workings exposed to the world." Okay maybe the Pentagon will shrug off a low level classified paper dump, and maybe even the State Department will let the little fish swim in the big pool, but when you start messing with Investment Bankers - Perhaps it's a document dump too far.

Right now at this point in the leaked documents, I can't tell if Julian Ass'ange is going to sink or swim. But if he goes ahead with his threat to publish corporate, and private banks documents. I think he might find that his public notoriety won't be enough to keep him buoyant.

Is it time to move the capitol of the United States? Wouldn't moving the capitol of the United States to the middle of the country create more access to our government by average American citizens? Could re location of the capitol's real estate, possibly change the culture of the United States capitol? What if we relocated the capitol to the center of our country? If the United States capitol was located in fly over country, our elected officials wouldn't be able to avoid the interior or heartland of our country. They would be forced by proximity to acknowledge the majority of their legislative decisions, don't take into account the every day life of average Americans citizens, the same citizens who employ them.

Historically there is a precedent the United States Capitol was not always located in the District of Columbia. The formation of the United States of America, began with the original 13 colonies. We have grown in land mass and states, since that original formation of the coastal colonies. Is it time to rethink the location of the capitol based on today's geographical reality?

The Democrat party after the last election has become a coastal party The Democrat party, has fallen out of step with the interior of the country. I have read where people satirically want California, and parts of New England to split off, and become separate countries. The geographical position of the capitol of our country has created power centers to be built up around, and surround our capitol. These power centers influence our elected officials. Moving the capitol would allow the rest of the country to influence decision making by making the capitol more accessible to other groups, that are not just from metropolitan centers - level the playing field. Often any part of our culture, that isn't metropolitan in nature, for example NYC, Chicago, Los Angles etc., is rejected as (Hickish). An example would be the recent remarks by Mayor Michael Bloomberg's opinion of the newly elected congressional freshmen, headed for our capitol in January.

There is a class of people in this country, who believe only they have a right to government input, they dismiss anyone who doesn't share their rarefied background. This leads to conformity, group think, and a rigid humorless political ideology. The last election shows they are in the minority. What is the threat of problem solving coming from outside of anything but the present slavish rigid progressive dogma? The so called ruling class has been doing such a bang up job up till now/Sarc. It's long past the time for fresh eyes, ears and ideas. Rigid conformity to only one's own perspective, does not breed creative solutions to anything. On the other hand, it does denote a tendency toward self fulfilling prophecies.

Icarus in Greek mythology was the son of a master craftsman Daedalus. Icarus and Daedalus were being imprisoned on the Greek island of Crete by King Minos. In order to escape from their exile, Daedalus created two pairs of wings out of wax and feathers for himself and his son Icarus. Last Tuesday we had an election so far I can't tell that anyone has learned anything from the shift in power, from one political party to another. But I have read a lot about people lamenting their fall from power, and the power grasping of others. And still more, lamenting their political party didn't grab even more power.

It's nothing but smoke and mirrors a distraction, and the mainstream media is a willing accomplice. If you are paying attention to the sideshow, you can't pay attention to what really effects you, Delaware, and the rest of your countrymen.

Christine O'Donnell is ahead in fund raising. Chris Coons, has had both the President and Vice President, come to Delaware to campaign for him, odd when other Democrat candidates shy a way from the President's uh help. If Delaware is in the win column, why is Chris Coons spending money on attack adds?

FUNDRAISING:

As has been reported Christine O'Donnell is has raised twice as much money ($3.8 million) as Coons in the last month. Again, as with Facebook, her massive 2-1 fund raising advantage is indicative of interest and intensity, which translates into voters on election day.

PUBLIC POLLS AND THE NRSC:

As I said, the public polls indicate that Coons is far ahead. Of course, the pollsters will admit that the accuracy of the polls is dependent on the accuracy of the turnout model. If the electorate is 37.4% Self identified conservative and 19% self identified liberal, as the 2009 Gallup numbers show for Delaware, 75% of the conservatives show up and vote for 'Donnell, while only 30% of the liberals show up (voting overwhelmingly for Coons), she needs only a decent showing with the moderates (who make up 40%)assuming they don't vote in greater proportions than the conservatives.

Obama tells Republicans "You Can't Have The Keys Back, You Drove The Economy Into The Ditch" Finally I can relate to my President, he likes metaphors, I like metaphors. Well at least I can relate to who ever is loading TOTUS.

There are a few problems with using the car as symbol for the economy, and the President doesn't get to decide who gets the keys to drive the economy (The American voters decide). First off they aren't his keys, and it's not his decision who gets to drive as I recall it's the private sector who drives the economy.

President Obama "The Republicans had the keys for the last 8 years, they drove the economy into the ditch". In January of 2007 the Democrats won the majority in the Senate and the House, which means they have been in power for the last 4 years this upcoming January, 3 months from now. 4 is half of 8, Political Math Is HARD;)

Almost 2 years ago, we decided to try and run the economy on the Hope & Change blend, what kind of mileage have we been getting?

To find your auto's gas mileage. Fill your gas tank to the top and write down your mileage (save it). Drive you car until you have about 1/4 of a tank of gas left. At the pump write down your mileage and fill your tank up to the top again.

After the financial meltdown of September 15, 2008, we decided we would try the Hope & Change blend. I am not sure how we would compute our economies mileage. We have to go back to what the national deficit was back in January 2009, when President Obama was sworn in, and than subtract what the national deficit is today. Factoring in that we were on some kind of hybrid blend starting in January of 2007, when Nancy Pelosi was sworn in as Speaker of the House. The House is where all spending Bills start. The President was a Senator back in 2007, in the United States Senate.

President Barack Obama was sworn into office in January of 2009, since he has been in office, our Progressive led legislature has passed countless spending Bills, and they want to pass more. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, aka Stimulus Bill this was going to keep U.S. unemployment under 8% at the cost of 862 Billion American tax payer dollars. Cash for Clunkers program, at a cost of 3 Billion American tax payer dollars. TARP II, Timothy Geithner outlined details of Tarp II today, a plan to spend the remaining $350 billion in TARP funds to jumpstart programs that could end up costing taxpayers as much as $2 trillion. There was the mortgage aid program to try and stem foreclosures. Friday's report from the Treasury Department suggests the $75 billion government effort is failing to slow the tide of foreclosures in the United States, economists say February 2010. As of today the National Unemployment rate stands at 9.6, and we have been told the outlook is sluggish for the foreseeable future with Unemployment staying steady at about 10%. Tim Geithner warns unemployment rate will rise. Christina Romer resigns as chief economic adviser, and returns to teaching...well they say those who can do, and those who can't teach. Austan Goolsbee, replaces her as the new chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers. Austan Goolsbee states "Unemployment will stay high"

If the economy really were a car, and the people we now have serving in public office were mechanics, we would have fired them all by now, and reported them to the Better Business Bureau. We surely would have changed the fuel blend we are currently trying to run the economy - (Hope & Change) turns out unicorns, and rainbows, won't power - super power's economies. If your mechanic presents you with a HUGE BILL, and turns around and tells you, your car is still going to sputter, and stall out, at about 10% unemployment, you fire your Mechanic. This isn't news, many, many people have been calling for the President to fire his economic team starting with Turbo Tim Geithner. Even if you factor in checking your tire pressure we are not getting good mileage. The President won't even let folks in the gulf fuel up - the moratorium on drilling in the gulf has cost a fragile economy even more jobs. The good news, we can HIRE new government mechanics this November 2, 2010.

I appreciate that the President is trying to relate, but when I listen to Joe Biden spinning the summer of recovery as so many jobs saved or created. The only message I receive is we need a new pit crew. India and Germany are out performing the United States, and the President and Joe Biden, can point out the ~~fuzzy math~~ fuzzy dice, and the ~~green jobs~~ fancy air freshner all they want, they need to understand if they want to drive for team America, that this is America and "We Wanna Go Fast"

Meghan, recently wrote a book about the time she spent on her father John McCain's Presidential campaign. Meghan McCain, thinks that the Republican Party has a public relations problem. Ms McCain thinks the GOP is not appealing to younger voters. Perhaps the Grand Old Party is a bit dated, when was the last time they freshened their image? The Republicans think aping their opponents platform will make them more appealing? Why have a two party system? If we can't find a discernible difference between the two partys?

The issue of being relevant to voters today is being framed in the old argument of Conservative vs Liberal. In reality the issue is Progressive vs Libertarian. If the GOP can't adapt, it may find it's self on the endangered species list. Duplicating their opponents losing strategy is a sign of a party that has run out of ideas.

The Mid Term Congressional Elections are coming up 2 November 2010. We are 56 Days out, let's review who is running for the Senate, and the House, what the hell, here is a link to the Gubernatorial races.

Even grading on a curve a lot of people flunked voting 101 in the last major U.S. election. For a refresher "How Obama Got Elected - Interviews With Obama Voters" . After I watched this video, the first time, my first reaction was boy we need nationwide civic seminars. The people being interviewed - couldn't answer the most fundamental questions about their own government. To be fair, even if they had been more informed, I believe they would have voted the same way anyway. They were high on Hope & Change. They were voting for Style over Substance. After reviewing again, I thought to myself, there needs to be an even more basic public voter education program. Actual fundamental instruction on vote casting, the purpose and the consequences. As our President has stated "Elections Have Consequences" There are at least two kinds of votes. A person can "Award' someone their vote, and a person can "Entrust" someone with their vote. What's the difference?

An example of "Awarding" someone with your vote, would be voting for your favorite idol on American Idol. You are asked to vote for the best "Talent" they win a "Prize". I am not a big American Idol fan, but I know they get a record contract. This means you as an Idol voter are participating in someone else receiving a prize from the "Private sector". It's harmless enough, it's not like you or your fellow American citizens are providing their prize, and some one benefits by your benevolence. There was even a movie about "Awarding" votes and a Presidential candidate who was in need of votes, it stared Dennis Quaid.

Imagine a country where the President never reads the newspaper, where the government goes to war for all the wrong reasons, and more people vote for a pop idol than their next President. The plots too incredulous/SARC.

An example of "Entrusting" someone with your vote, would be voting for a political candidate for "Public office". This is different because the politician isn't going to be awarding prizes to anyone. Well the politician shouldn't be awarding prizes to anyone;) The politician will be passing laws, and God willing performing Congressional oversight. This requires the voter to be more involved in the public process, because many people (fellow citizens) will be effected by the voters choice. If John McCain had looked like Brad Pitt, and sounded like George Clooney, would he have won the last election? Even so his politics would have stayed the same, and we would be living with his public policy choices. We as voters, would have "Entrusted" John McCain with our votes, to what end - to keep looking like a hot celebrity? It seems that's why we elected Barack Obama, perhaps he reminded us of Denzel Washington? The media and politicians, are not going to point out the difference in voting. They want your vote, any way they can get it. Informed - Uniformed, Style over Substance - okey dokey. A naive electorate works out just fine with them, in fact I believe they prefer the easily impressed, and often snookered. When you are "Entrusting" someone with your vote - it's not about benevolence it's about "Civic" responsibility. Turns out you, and your fellow American Citizen's tax money, will be awarded by the political candidate you vote for. Remember you vote them in, and they "Deem" who is worthy of your tax paying dollars largess.

I do admire some politician's chutzpa. For example Louise Slaughter, New York's 28th district. She told reporters it was beneath her dignity, and the dignity of her office to hold town hall meetings. That's the equivalent of your employee telling you, "NO" I won't make the meeting you as an employer instructed her to attend. Then there was the "Slaughter House Rules" who can forget Deem & Pass. Louise Slaughter, insisted we had to pass that monstrosity of a health care bill, because she heard from a constituent, that she had to wear her dead sister's dentures..Eew. One sixth of the economy had to be legislated, because of one of Louise's constituents dental habits? If I was from NY's 28th, I wouldn't be bragging about voting in the Dental Dam;)

Representative Barney Frank (D) Mass, did hold town hall meetings. I have to confess a reticent respect for Barney Frank, he's got audacity coming out of the wazoo. Barney Frank feels so safe in his Congressional seat, he feels free to insult his constituents.

Who can forget Minnesota's Senate race Al Franken finally won with the support of the Lizard faction. Many complained about this race but I think Minnesota is constantly sending D.C. a message "Did you get the klown we sent you?"

How about Representative Hank Johnson, Democrat, Georgia, his concern about sending more troops to Guam. "My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize." What was Georgia's voters message? You don't like Cynthia McKinney kiss our ass :)

The American electorate is constantly sending D.C. messages, D.C. just isn't paying attention. It looks like the trend is sending them klowns.

A woman voted for Alvin Greene in the South Carolina Democrat Primary, because his name reminded her of Al Green the R & B Singer.

I agree with Governor Huckabee, on his assessment of Afghanistan, and our participation in a part of the world, that has chewed up, and spit out armies over the course of their history. We need to have the mission clearly defined, for what we call a victory in Afghanistan. Otherwise we are at risk of mission creep. We know how that plays out. We were taught that lesson before.

It looks like the enemy was taking notes.

I think Afghanistan is a suckers bet, and the odds are against us, but I wouldn't bet against America. If Afghanistan rises it's going to be on the backs of Americans.

I have tried to write some cowboy poetry myself. "Buck Fever" is difficult to describe, it's a condition that comes over hunters, a nervous loss of control when they first sight game.

Everyone talks about "Buck Fever" some hunters even deny they have ever experienced it. Somewhere locked away in our genetics is our hunter past, and when that Wild Game comes into sight, it wakes up that entity inside of us.....unfortunately today we don't want to own our inner hunter. Because that means we have to admit we are Predators, and not only that, we are pretty excited about our position at the top of the food chain.

It's when man denies parts of his nature, that he loses control of that same nature (suppressing) and his life is no longer in balance. We are being conditioned to believe, that some parts of human nature is "Bad" we give them labels like primitive, that's subjective reasoning. We are not larger than nature, and nature has always managed to trump our attempts at self defining ourselves apart from the influence of nature. I don't know why humans beings want to interfere with such an impressive system? I guess it's just our nature.

One of the many things I have noticed about Cowboys, they are comfortable in their own skin.

Have you held onto your sanity, while noticing others have given up on theirs, and it seems, they aren't using the same passing lane anymore? What do you do when you reach a certain age in your life, do you pull the car over? If you had to do it all over again, would you go down the same roads? If life is a highway should you obey the speed limit? That's how life works, there are always more questions than answers.

They say life is a journey not a destination, and that every journey starts with a single footstep.....and I always think , why walk when you can ride? Who made up these rules? When it does come time to take life's off ramp, Isn't it better to go out sliding sideways into your coffin, yelling holy shit what a ride?

Compare Mr Duvall's interview, to the interview of the stars of "Inception" A movie I was planning on taking my child to watch, until I viewed this interview of the main actors. Mr Duvall, was right about his position on actors and engaging in partisan politics. Mr Cheney is suffering from Congestive Heart Failure. I know what Mr Cheney, and his family are going through, my own father died of Congestive Heart Failure. This young actress in this clip, certainly has smug down pat maybe she would want to show us just what "compassion" looks like, if she can fake that she has it made. Apparently compassion is only for the select few she thinks is worthy. Taking a cheap shot at Sarah Palin isn't really much more than parroting "Progressive" talking points. These two actors left me under impressed. I won't be buying a ticket to see Inception, even when it goes to the "$1.00" movies.

Media attention has led to offers from private property owners to allow the beavers to live on their land, Poth told CBC News on Thursday. Parks staff are exploring those options, but killing the beavers has not been ruled out as a worst-case scenario.

This is the first time there have been any problems with aggressive wildlife in the park's 20-year history, said Poth. About six to 12 beavers live at Three Mile Bend, he said.

The city is expected to decide on the beavers' fate in the next two weeks.

This particular Holiday Inn Express is located in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. I bet right about now the good people of Sault Ste Marie, are wishing the economy was better, and people were checking into their hotels, eating at their restaurants, and enjoying their recreational areas. Right now Michigan's unemployment rate is 13.6 %, there is someone who wants to prescribe something for "Michigan's Malaise" Dr Dan Benishek, Republican candidate, for the U.S. Congress, wants to be your next Representative for Michigan's 1st District.

Of course for people to be able to visit the beautiful 1st District of Michigan, people need to be able to rent hotel rooms in Michigan. That takes money, and in order to get money, they need jobs. This is something Dan Benishek understands, his opponent RINO Jason Allen, is being funded by SEIU, of course the Unions care about jobs - theirs, not necessarily yours.

Dr Dan Benishek, understands how supply and demand works, how to stimulate the economy with job growth. Unfortunately people in the Democrat party have their own ideas about stimulating the economy. For example Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, believes that extending unemployment benefits stimulates the economy. I have listened to the Speaker, I have tried to follow her reasoning. But I have a difficult time understanding how, paying people very little amounts of money, to keep them from gainful employment, stimulates the economy. Perhaps in some bureaucrat's formula for wealth redistribution it stimulates the economy, but one thing is for sure it doesn't do a thing for a person's self esteem.

Senator John S McCain (R) Is A Tenacious Advocate For Our U.S. Military Service People.

Imus In the Morning, broadcasting from The National Intrepid Center Of Excellence. Imus's guest this morning, included Senator John S McCain, who is running in the Arizona Republican primary for re election. Imus brought up earlier this week, that he wanted Senator John F Kerry, to join him for the inaugural broadcast, from the Intrepid Center Of Excellence. Imus's program producers were reporting back to Imus, that Senator John F Kerry was too busy to attend. I sure hope that means Senator John F Kerry, is busy meeting with our troops that have been deployed all over the world, including Afghanistan & Iraq.

So I think in all fairness, The Other McCain, needs to acknowledge that Senator John S McCain, hasn't ever been too busy for our American Military Service People or advocating for their needs, including superior treatment for their injuries incurred during their service to our country.

Former Clinton Deputy Attorney General Jamie Gorelick, best known for "stove-pipping" intelligence, during the Clinton years, has been hired by BP. Maybe the Mayans were onto something with that calender of theirs that ends in 2012.

The prospect of a lengthy timescale to cap the well reinforces the views of Carlos Morales, the head of exploration at Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex). The company was the operator of the Ixtoc I well in 1979, when 3.3m gallons of oil spilled into the Gulf. It took nearly 10 months to bring the blowout under control.

Morales is now sharing technical information with BP in an attempt to help it block the Macondo leak. He has warned it could take "four to five months" for a relief well to cap the spill.

Hurricanes also pose a problem. The hurricane season in the Gulf began this month, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has predicted it will be "active to very active", with up to 23 named storms and up to 14 hurricanes on the way.

Saleri said a bad storm could "really complicate" the environmental impact of spilled oil and delay relief drilling by two weeks every time a hurricane strikes.
